Created for ΗΛΙΟΔΩΡΟΝ, a collaborative project bringing together twelve creatives, RETURN began with an invitation to step outside the everyday and create simply for the sake of creating.
For the past year, much of my creative energy has been poured into motherhood. The time I did spend at my bench became purposeful: orders to make, pieces to finish, a business to keep moving. ΗΛΙΟΔΩΡΟΝ arrived as an invitation to step outside that rhythm and make simply for the pleasure of making again.
I began with the form of an egg: a symbol of birth, possibility and something waiting to emerge. I shaped it intuitively in wax, allowing the marks of my hands and the irregularities of the process to remain. At its centre, I set a large golden citrine, a stone that seemed to hold its own small source of warmth and light.
As the piece took shape, it became less about creating something new and more about returning to something that was already there. To curiosity. To experimentation. To following an idea without considering where it might fit within a collection or whether it needed to become anything more.
RETURN is a small marker of that moment of finding my way back to the bench, and to the simple joy of making something because I wanted to see it exist.
Hand-sculpted in wax and cast in sterling silver, RETURN is set with a 10 × 13 mm radiant-cut natural citrine. The pendant measures approximately 18 × 12 mm, bears the pico. logo on the reverse and hangs from a delicate 50 cm sterling silver chain.
